William Troxel Sr.

William J. Troxel Sr, 83, of Waukegan, IL, passed away at Vista Medical Center East on July 6, 2026. William was born on April 13, 1943, in Chicago, IL to Wilbert and Janet Troxel. He was a longtime resident of Waukegan.

William married Maria Cacdac November 27, 1977 in Olongapo City, Philippines. He retired from the US Navy after 20 years and also retired from the V.A. Hospital. William belonged to the Parish of St. Boche. William was a soccer coach for the Waukegan Park District and a huge sports fan. He loved all his animals. He enjoyed and loved watching his children play sports and was at every game. Everyone knew him as “Uncle Bill”. William was always willing to help everyone no matter what it was. He was the most kindest and loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather that anyone could ask for.

He is survived by his loving wife, Maria T. Toxel; children, Kathy (Ron) Miller, Richard (Aimee) Troxel and William J. Troxel Jr; step-daughters, Marilou (Osias) Rondina and Mariter (Blake) Sario; grandchildren, Sonnie I. Troxel, John D. (Ashley) Barnes Jr, Devin (Xyrelle) Barnes, Aidan H. Miller, Adreanna Sario, Aria Sario, Dhaven Sario, Ariel (Ramli) Rondina, Arnel (Mauilou) Rondina, Arwin Rondina and Angelo (Christine) Rondina; great grandchildren, Juniper, Damian, Mei, Levi, Briella Barnes and Dexter, Aerielle, Thea, Bryce and Avah Rondina and many nieces and nephews.

William is preceded in death by his parents, Wilbert and Janet Troxel; brother, Thomas P. Troxel and sisters, Joyce L. Blattner, Daun Troxel and Nancy Troxel.

A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2026 at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd Zion, IL, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. with a memorial services beginning at 5:00 p.m.
