William H. Rymer

William Howard Rymer, 87, of Pleasant Prairie, WI, formerly of Pompano Beach, FL, passed away on August 13, 2025 in Kenosha, WI.

William (Bill) was born December 29, 1937 in Chicago, IL to Howard Carl and Josephine Pearl Francis (Bryant) Rymer. Bill attended Lake Forest College where he received his Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering. He married Miriam Loretta Downs on March 8, 1957 in Zion, IL and they spent most of their adult years in the Zion-Winthrop Harbor area, retiring to Florida for 20 years, and returning to the area four years ago. Bill worked for the Cancer Treatment Centers of America as project manager on many of their hospital builds as well as running the building maintenance department for several years. He was the owner of Rymer Landscaping for many years, contributing landscape design to many of the buildings in Zion. He was a member of Christ Community Church, and served on the Elder Board over the years. He also served the community as a member of the Winthrop Harbor School Board and Zion Benton High School Board.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 68 years Miriam Loretta Rymer; children, Sheri Jesiel, Wendi (Mike) Gober, Traci (Edwin) Lee, Jeffrey (Kim) Rymer; grandchildren, Christa (Martin) Voelker, Alyssa (Benjamin) Hughes, Scott McElroy, Brandon (Ashley) Gober, Brittany (Tony) Marqui, Mariah (Kyle) Meyer, Allen Lee, Blake (Jessica) Rymer, and Reece (Hailey) Rymer; great-grandchildren Noah, Warren, Samuel, Eloise, Josiah, Rymer, Mason, Miles, Lennon, Lewis, Emerson, Blair and Olivia; sister, Susan Franklin; and brother Richard Rymer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Josephine Rymer; brother, Jim Rymer; and son-in-law, Greg Jesiel.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025 from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. at Christ Community Church, 2500 Dowie Memorial Dr, Zion, IL. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Interment will be private for the family at a later date at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park Zion, IL.
