Wesley "PJ" Sorg

August 24, 1982 — April 19, 2026

Wesley "PJ" Sorg, a cherished son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed peacefully at his home on April 19, 2026, at the age of 43. Born on August 24, 1982, in Lake Forest, Illinois, Wesley lived a life filled with warmth, creativity, and an enduring love for his family and community.

From a young age, Wesley exhibited a profound appreciation for the arts, attending Waukegan High School, the College of Lake County, and the Idyllwild Arts Academy. His passion for performance shone brightly during his school years, where he was an excellent actor in school plays and also contributed his talents to the tech aspects of productions. This love for creativity extended beyond the stage, as Wesley was also a writer and an avid enthusiast of computer games, where his strategic thinking and imagination found a perfect outlet.

Wesley's career path was as diverse as his interests. He worked at Radio Shack, the Park District, and Barnes and Noble, roles that allowed him to share his knowledge and love for technology, community, and literature. Each position he held was an opportunity for Wesley to connect with people, a trait he excelled at and cherished deeply.

Baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses at the tender age of 12, Wesley found solace and strength in his faith. His spirituality was a guiding force throughout his life. The Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, along with family and friends, provided support, during his life and in his final days.

Wesley had a heart full of generosity and kindness, always eager to lend a hand to his mother, grandparents, and beloved nieces, Lovely "Grizz" and Ambrielle "Bri" Lezine.

Though Wesley's journey was marked by periods of illness, he remained a source of joy and inspiration to those who knew him. His resilience and ability to find happiness in small pleasures, like watching TV and going to the movies, endeared him to many. When he was healthy, his presence was a blessing to all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Wesley is survived by his devoted parents, John and Robin Sorg; loving grandmother, Beverly Touamah; his loving siblings, sister Amber Sorg and brother Jourdon (Beatrix) Sorg; his dear aunts Corinn Wilson and Leah Schimenti; great uncles Thomas Jackson, Donald Jackson, and Ed Kaucnik; great aunts Emma Darlene Davis, Sylvia Ganaway, Jewell Fannin, Bonnie Kaucnik, and Lillian Jackson; his cherished nieces Lovely and Ambrielle; and a host of cousins and a special uncle, Donald Benjamin. He was predeceased by his grandparents, John Sorg, Sr., George and Jessie Jackson, and uncles David and Peter Sorg.

In accordance with Wesley's wishes, a private funeral service will be held. The Sorg family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, family, friends, and Congdon Funeral Home for their unwavering support and compassionate care during this difficult time.

Wesley "PJ" Sorg will be remembered for his gentle spirit, his creative soul, and the love he gave so freely to those around him. His legacy lives on in the hearts of his family and friends, our love that will never fade.
