Virginia Franks

Virginia Franks, 73, of Wadsworth, died peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, May 8, 2007 at home, following a prolonged illness. She was born April 16, 1934 in Marietta, Mississippi, moved to Zion 40 years ago and to Wadsworth 15 years ago. She was a member of Zion Church of Christ. Virginia retired after 40 years of teaching for Zion Public Schools, District 6, at Elmwood School. Survivors include her husband of 55 years, George; one daughter Regina (Michal) Orawiec of Zion; three grandchildren Jennifer (Dan) Kielp of Zion, Kimberly Orawiec of Winthrop Harbor and Jason Orawiec of Round Lake; and three great-grandchildren Tyler and Morgan Orawiec and Derek Kielp. She was preceded in death by one sister Maurene Gann; and her parents Grady and Sallie Smith. Visitation will be Thursday, May 10, 2007, from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 11th, at 10:30 a.m. at the Congdon Funeral Home with David Padfield of Zion Church of Christ officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion.
