Terrance Herberger

May 13, 1968 — September 15, 2025

Terrance G. Herberger, 57, of Beach Park, IL passed away unexpectedly on September 15, 2025 at Highland Park Hospital in Highland Park, IL. He was born in Waukegan, IL on May 13, 1968, son of Jack and Audrey Herberger. Terry was a graduate of Waukegan Township High School. He was a dedicated employee of Wurth Baer Supply Company for 34 years.

He married the love of his life, Louise E. Butterbaugh, on October 11, 1997, in Gurnee, IL with his son Thorin as Best Man.

Terry was an enthusiastic DC Comics fan, a connoisseur of all things Batman and Star Wars, and had a graphic t-shirt for any occasion, which he wore with shorts in all seasons.

With a sparkle in his eyes, he could recite movie quotes or one-liners appropriate for any conversation. His great goal in life was to make others laugh, which he did successfully every day.

He dreamed of owning a 1959 Gibson Les Paul guitar with a Sunburst finish. He enjoyed playing guitar throughout his life, even though the only “Les Paul” he owned was one his daughter made for him out of cardboard, which he treasured.

He was also an avid reader of history and science fiction.

Terry is survived by his wife, Louise Herberger, daughters Elaine (Hudson) Brumbarger, Margaret Herberger, Terra Herberger, granddaughter Sorsha, brother Steve (Deb) Herberger, and son Thorin Herberger. Terry was preceded in death by his parents Jack and Audrey Herberger.

A memorial for Terry will be held at Congdon Funeral Home in Zion, IL on Friday, September 26, 2025, from 5:00 - 7:00 pm with a memorial service beginning at 7:00 pm.
