Shirley Mintern

Shirley Faye Anderson Mintern Oct 27 1938 - March 26 -2026 passed away peacefully at home with her daughter Wanda.

Shirley was a born caretaker and took care of her husband Mike for 25 years after he became ill in 1991, while working full-time.

She was an extraordinary cook and if she was cooking a holiday dinner or Sunday meal you can guarantee that her table would be full. Everyone loved when grandma cooked.

She worked at American hospital supply, Baxter healthcare, Alligience and Cardinal Health for 25 years.

Wendy would like to thank her sister Wanda for putting her life on hold for 3 1/2 years to take care of their mother.

Shirley is survived by 2 daughters, Wendy Jo Grom and Wanda Rottmann. 7 grandchildren Nicole Palia, Brandon Grom, Alan Mintern, Rebecca Orawiec, Michael Rottmann, Mallory Rottmann and Stephen Mintern and 13 great grandchildren. 2 of 8 siblings Lavara Nix, Nelda Nelson, a sister-in-law Nell Anderson as well as many nieces and nephews.

She is proceeded in death by her husband Michael E Mintern, sons Michael S (Mickey) Mintern, Todd Mintern, son-in-law Andrew Grom, her parents Vollie and Evie Anderson, in laws Ernest and Ercell Mintern. 8 siblings and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Amy Moore her caregiver for last year, Catholic Charities and Better Home Senior Care.

Shirley did not want a funeral or service. She will be interned at Mt. Olivet next to her husband Michael and son Todd Mintern with a brief ceremony at a later date for family and close friends.
