Shirley Ianson

Shirley M. Ianson, 85, of Zion, IL passed away June 22, 2023. Shirley was born in South Norfolk, VA and spent her adult life in the Zion/Beach Park area. She worked for Abbott Laboratories in North Chicago and retired in 1996.

Shirley enjoyed Broadway Plays, piano music and the 50-60 music genre.

Shirley is survived by her son, Richard (Diana) Ianson of Zion, IL; grandchildren, Jason and Justin Ianson of Winthrop Harbor, IL; 3 great grandchildren, Luke, Keagan and Jonny; 2 step-grandchildren, Candy (Dave) Angel of Kenosha, WI and Glenn (Caitlin) Ianson of Sturgeon Bay, WI; and 3 step great grandchildren, Ava, Alivia and Layla.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, John and Martha Nix; 2 infant sons, John and Brian Ianson, her eldest son William Ianson; granddaughter, Ericka Ianson; and step son, Glenn Ianson; and brother, John Nix.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 from 9:00 until 10:00 am at the Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. Service will start at 10:00 am with Pastor Doug Carlson of Grace Missionary Church officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park Chapel, Zion.
