Robert G. “Bob” Webber, 77, of Winthrop Harbor, Illinois, passed away in Chicago, Illinois on May 2, 2026.
Formerly of LaRue, OH, and Marion, OH, and raised in Carpentersville, IL. He graduated from Barrington High School before joining the U.S. Army where he was stationed at Camp Casey, South Korea. Bob retired as a corrections officer for the State of Ohio. He was a member of St. Brigid Parish, Our Lady of Humility Church in Beach Park, IL. Bob’s greatest joy was his family. Every moment of his life was devoted to his loving wife of 54 years, Patricia Ann Hague; they married on November 20, 1971, at Ascension Catholic Church in Harvey, IL; and his children and grandchildren. Bob’s heart and soul was full of nothing but love, laughter, integrity and kindness. Nothing made him happier than spending time with his 7 grandchildren. He was a friend and role model to everyone that knew him and is greatly missed. Bob was an avid sports fan and passed away peacefully with his family by his side while listening to his final Cubs game.
Bob is survived by his wife, Pat Webber; children, Kelly Johnston of Chicago; Rob (Diana) Webber of Lake Villa; Matthew (Patricia) Webber of Park Ridge; grandchildren, Daniel and Brittany Johnston; Cayden and Evan Webber; and Carston, Crimson, and Sawyer Webber; siblings, Carl (Nancy) Webber of Cave Creek, AZ; Richard (Sonia) Webber of Matteson; Fred (Melodie) Webber of East Dundee; uncles Bob Webber of Salem, WI, and Earl (Jill) Price of LaRue, OH; sisters-in-law, Lori (Dennis) Horan of Searcy, Arkansas, and Diane Hague; brothers-in-law, Steve (Donna) Hague of Sycamore, OH; Bill (Antoinette) Hague of New Mexico, and Bruce Aylward; former son-in-law, John Johnston; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends, including his former co-workers at ORW.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Anna (Kovach) Webber; sister, Betty Ann Aylward; Sister-in-law, Bettie Webber; Brother-in-law, Tom Hague.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at St. Brigid Parish - Our Lady of Humility Church, 10655 W. Wadsworth Rd, Beach Park, IL. Burial with military honors will be held on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at 12:30 p.m. at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, 20953 W. Hoff Rd, Elwood, IL.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Jude Children Research Hospital.
