Ramona May Cooprider (nee Michael), 96, passed away May 20, 2025. She was born on November 30, 1928 in Kokomo, Indiana to Lester and Farah Michael (nee Degler).
Ramona came to Zion as an infant, and graduated from Zion-Benton High School in 1946. She was a member of the Memorial United Methodist Church in Zion, IL, where she married Dudley Cooprider, August 19, 1950. She was a member of the Methodist United Women, as past President and Circle Chairman, and also, active with the Church Women United for more than 25 years. She was a member of Greenbay Homemakers for 32 years, and served as an Election Judge for many years. Ramona was a volunteer at Midwestern Regional Medical Center (CTCA) for 30 years. Ramona and Dudley were members of Swingin Sweedes square dance club and Rambling Rigs Camping Club. Ramona and Dudley enjoyed wintering in Weslaco, Texas for 14 years. She crocheted afghans for her sons, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her three sons, Thomas (Kelly); their children, Katie, Laura, Anne, Kara, Kristyn, Logan; son, David (Donna); their children, Robin and Matthew; and son, William (Sonia); great-grandchildren, Alexa, Noah, Angelina, Isaac, Vinny, Ava, Austin, Lake, Sylvia, and Rhett; and great-great-grandson, Henrik.
Ramona was preceded in death by her husband who passed on February 14, 2013, H. Dudley Cooprider; her parents, Lester and Farah; her brothers, Raymond Michael (infant), Norman Michael and Wayne Michael.
Ramona will be entombed at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park in Zion, IL.
