Peter J. Bowler II, 70, of Kenosha, Wisconsin passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones August 11th, 2025 in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Peter was born November 28, 1954 in London, England.
Peter moved to the United States of America when he was 15 years old, graduating from Waukegan High School in 1972. After his graduation, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps (USMC) at the age of 18. Peter was honored to serve his country for 21 years. He was a proud member of the Recon Division during the Vietnam War, and valued his time spent stationed in various places around the world. After his time serving in the military, Peter worked for the Department of Defense and Homeland Security for 15 years. During this time, he also valued his higher education and obtained 3 degrees from the College of Lake County in Illinois in Computer Science; with a 4.0 grade point average.
While Peter was clearly passionate in serving his country, there were other passions of his. He enjoyed camping, reading, fishing, and cooking up all types of recipes. Peter was known for his award-winning chili at the Great Lakes Naval Base. He also loved to cook on his smoker, his ribs were spectacular. Peter had a love for woodworking. His carpentry skills leave behind thoughtful gifts and beautiful lawn decorations that his family will cherish.
Throughout his life, he gave the utmost attention to detail. Whether it was for his hobbies, his education, his military service, or during cherished time spent with his family, everything Peter did was with love.
Peter is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Linda (Boyd) Bowler of Wisconsin; brother, Stuart Bowler of Illinois; six daughters, Margaret Bowler of Arizona, Nayomi (Jonathon) Robison of Arizona, Laura (Tony) Stark of Michigan, Melissa (Benjamin) Larson of Indiana, Christina (Michael) Ringle of Michigan, and Rhonda (John) Ramey of Illinois; twelve grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Moran and stepfather, John Moran of Illinois.
Peter was loved dearly by his family, and will be missed by all. He will be in our hearts forever.
Visitation will be held Thursday August 21, 2025 at 4:00 p.m. until the time of service at 5:00 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home 3012 Sheridan Road Zion, Illinois.
