Patsy Ann (Emmons) Overbey ,89, went to be with the Lord on July 21, 2025. She was born October 6, 1935 in Crawfordsville, Indiana in an apartment above a grocery store. She was delivered by the mayor and Dr. Cooksey along with her grandmother Grace Hutchens.
Patsy went to school in Crawfordsville, IN until mid-fifth grade, and then moved to Darlington, IN after living a short time in Florida. Patsy moved to Waukegan, IL in eighth grade and attended North School and WTHS graduating in 1953. She worked for "MA Bell", "AT&T" Ameritech in Operator Services Craft and Management until retirement in 1992.
Patsy was active in The Telephone Pioneers for over 30 years, and president of The Lakeland Chapter (Regular and retired Telephone employees) for most of those years. Patsy received the President of the United States Award for all the years of giving “Critters of Love” (Stuffed Animals).
Patsy Ann loved her family and friends deeply and every animal she saw. She cared for many. She received the name “Gods Keeper of the Animals”.
Patsy Ann is survived by her daughters, Laurie Ann Overbey Flament ( Phillip Hanna), Launa Kay Overbey Halas (Douglas); grandchildren, Christopher Bryan Flament (Cory), Sarah Ann Halas May (Dan); great-grandchildren, Norah Ann May & Evah Jane May. Her soulmate and friend for over 60 years, Richard Hultz.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Jennings Bryan Emmons & Ruthanna Hutchins Emmons Rupp.
Visitation will be held on July 31, 2025 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m., at Congdon Funeral Home 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion IL. Patsy Ann will be laid to rest at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, in Zion, IL.
