Patricia A. Lord

Patricia "Pat" A. Lord, 86, of Zion, IL, formerly of Evansville, IN, passed away on March 5, 2025, in Libertyville, IL.

Pat was born on September 27, 1938, in Paris, IL, the daughter of George and Alma (Frantz) Stevenson. She married Charles J. Lord on August 7, 1965. He passed away on April 1, 1976. During their life together, Pat and Chuck lived in Indiana, Virginia, California, and Washington State before settling in Zion, IL.

She graduated from Benjamin Bosse High School in Evansville, IN (Class of '56), and went on to attend Evansville College (now the University of Evansville), where she was a majorette and enjoyed teaching young women the art of twirling.

After retiring from Zion-Benton Township High School, where she worked as a bus driver and driver safety trainer, Pat continued driving buses for the Zion Park District senior program. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church for over 40 years and also attended services at Christ Community Church in Zion, IL. Pat was active in the Zion Women’s Club for 50 years, where she served as president, and was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

She enjoyed playing bridge and other card games, and spending time with friends and family.

Pat is survived by her daughter, Kathryn "Bethann" Lord (Donna Morask); her granddaughter, Kayla Lord-Carmody (John Carmody); and her great-grandchildren, Diane Carmody and Jack Carmody.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Alma Stevenson; her husband, Charles Joseph Lord; and her son, Charles Joseph Lord II.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 16th, 2025 at 2:00 PM at First Presbyterian Church in Waukegan, IL.
