Nancy (Pettit) Peters, of Beach Park, Illinois passed away Sunday, November 23, 2025 at the age of 84.
Nancy was born in Manchester, Ohio on February 13, 1941 to Jean (Ayres) Pettit and Eugene Pettit. After graduating from high school, she married and started a family. She spent the next couple of decades as a diligent homemaker. Nancy later worked for the Great Lakes Navy Exchange for over twenty years, from which she retired in 2004. She was an avid reader and enjoyed painting ceramics. She also loved playing bingo with her friends.
She is survived by her son, David (Gayla) Brown of Warrior, Alabama; daughter, Lisa (Jesse) Jarrett of Beach Park, Illinois; grandchildren, Clinton Brown of Morris, Alabama, Tara Brown of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Kalyn (Addison) Janz of Kimberly, Alabama, and Steven Jarrett of Beach Park, Illinois; grandson-in-law, Andy Hutchison; great-grandchildren, Henry Hutchison, and Lucy and Brooks Janz; siblings, Mike (Denise) Pettit of New Berlin, Wisconsin, Rita Dailey of Muskego, Wisconsin, Rod (Sheila) Karns of Montgomery, Texas, and Jeff (Robin) Karns of Silver Spring, Maryland; and many nieces, nephews, and beloved friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Peters; parents; step parents; brother, Dennis Pettit; granddaughter, Amanda Hutchison; and great grandson, Archer Janz.
Toward the end of her life, Nancy gave her heart to Jesus, and the evidence of her salvation was apparent to her loved ones who surrounded her.
A celebration of life in honor of Nancy will be held on Friday, December 12, 2025 at 3 PM at Lighthouse Community Church 600 College Avenue Winthrop Harbor, Illinois 60096.
