Mildred Cole

Mildred Cole, 93, of Zion, Illinois passed away September 13, 2023. She was born December 18, 1929 in Shelbyville, Illinois the daughter of Walter and Mabel (Andrews) Southern.

Mildred was a member of Christian Assembly of God church in Zion, Illinois and was a Sunday school teacher for many years. She retired from Muntz TV as an inspector.

Mildred is survived by her children, Roy Cole, Carolyn Cole, John Cole, and Steve Cole; grandchildren, Susie Schneider, Jerry McCormick, Shannon Walker, Johnny Cole, Derick Cole, Shayna Shadowen, and April, Jacob, and Steve Jr. Cole; nine great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchild Jurnee; sister Nancy Gibbons; brother, Wayne Southern; and lots of nieces and nephews.

Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, John Cole; son, Bobby Cole; great-great-grandson Landon; parents; siblings, Gene Southern, Howard Southern, Ruby Banard, and Jane Brosier.

Visitation will be held Monday September 18, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. followed by a service at 11:00 a.m., at Congdon Funeral Home 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, Illinois 60099. Burial will follow at Pine View Memorial Park Cemetery in Beach Park, Illinois.
