Mary McGonigle

Mary McGonigle, 99, of Beach Park, IL, formerly of Waukegan, passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2013, at home. Mary was born February 19, 1914, in Waukegan, IL, and was a 1932 graduate of Waukegan Township High School. She was a member of Our Lady of Humility Church in Beach Park where she served as a Minister of Communion. Mary was a graduate of the Saint Therese School of Nursing class of 1935 and worked as a registered nurse at Saint Therese Hospital. Survivors include her children, Tom (Betty) McGonigle, Jerry McGonigle, Jim (Carol Schmidt) McGonigle, and Peggy McGonigle; grandchildren, Mark (Michelle) McGonigle, Lt. Col Jennifer (Rick) McGonigle-Fojtik, Steve (Krista) McGonigle, and Joe (Pam Reed) McGonigle; great-grandchildren, Jillian, Brady, Kaitlyn, Joey, and Sarah; and sister-in-law, Connie Simon. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, her daughter Rosemary (Bob) Koudelka, sisters, Rose, Elsie, Ceal, Helen and Katie; and brothers, John and Clarence Simon. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, November 26, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Humility Church, 10655 W. Wadsworth, Beach Park, IL. Interment will follow at Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville, IL. Visitation will be Monday, November 25, 2013, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL. Memorial donations are suggested to Our Lady of Humility Church or VISTA Hospice.
