Mary Corder

Mary June Corder, 81, a lifelong resident of Zion, died on Friday, July 18, 2008, at Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan after a brief illness. Mary was born June 1, 1927, in Zion, and graduated from Zion-Benton Township High School in 1945. She married Robert H. Corder on October 17, 1946 in Zion. Mary was a member of Christ Community Church in Zion. She had worked as a bookkeeper for several businesses until she retired. Survivors include son, Robert R. (Charlene) Corder of Rockford, IL; daughter, Constance Corder of Zion; and grandson, Robert T. (Daniela) Corder of Libertyville, IL. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert H. Corder in 1999; and father and mother, Raymond and Dollie DePew. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, July 23, 2008, at 11:00 a.m at the Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion. Entombment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park in Zion. Friends may greet the family on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested to the American Cancer Society, or the Camp Zion Ministry of the Christ Community Church.
