Marlys Beguhn

Marlys Jean Beguhn, 97, of Zion, IL, passed away surrounded by her loved ones on April 8, 2026.

Marlys was born on May 13, 1929, in Menomonie, WI, the daughter of Henry and Florence (Hallstein) Dennis. Marlys graduated from high school and, shortly after, married Carroll Beguhn on May 21, 1948, in Menomonie, WI. She was a very active member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Zion, IL; she was in the church choir, president of the Ladies Guild for many years, one of the Girl Pioneers leaders, and a member of the Red Hat Society. Marlys worked at Ladies Fields and a children's store called Peanut Butter and Jelly. Marlys's greatest joy and love were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Terry Beguhn, Lynda (Marc) Romero, and Beckie (Tom) Pencak; grandchildren, Shawn Beguhn (Jill), Jackie (Chris) Wasmer, Stacia Beguhn, Nathan (Crystal) Beguhn, Taryn Romero, Marc (Kristi) Romero, Tiffany (Steve) Wilson, Nicholas (Louis) Pencak, and Rheanna (Andy) Rasico; twelve great-grandchildren; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carroll Beguhn; grandson, Shannon Pencak; parents; and all ten of her beloved brothers and sisters.

Memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. followed by a service at 11:00 a.m. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 1800 23rd Street, Zion, IL 60099.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Best Friends Animal Rescue or the Kenosha Humane Society.
