Maria Infante, 86, of Zion, Illinois formerly of Gurnee, Illinois passed away surrounded by her loved ones on May 19, 2026 in Zion, Illinois.
Maria was born on May 13, 1940 in Guatemala the daughter of Juan Andrade and Julia Franco. Maria married Joaquin Infante in Chicago, Illinois in 1995, and she devoted her life to being a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of Holy Family Parish. She will always be remembered for her kindness, her sense of humor and her willingness to always lend a hand to anyone in need. She was a wonderful cook and kind to all that knew her. She was a fighter and showed that towards the very end. Her last words to her family was that she loved them all dearly.
She is survived by her children: Amparo (Nery) Pardo, Julio Maldonado, Ana (Sergio) Sanchinelli, Telma (Raul) Garcia; grandchildren: Ada (Felipe) Diaz, Kathy (Alberto) Cardenas, Jennifer (Luis) Perez, Christopher (Maria) Prado, Michelle Maldonado, Rolando Acevedo, Dennis Acevedo, Melvin Acevedo, Lesli Munos, Estuardo Munos, Otto (Elizabeth) Garcia, and Rosario (Jorge) Cardenas; twenty-one great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; and her siblings, Elena Olivia and Maritza Andrade.
Maria was preceded in death by her husband, Joaquin Infante; daughters, Irma Prado and Aracely Munos; son, Rolando Maldonado; sister, Francisca Franco; and brother, Miguel Franco.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 29, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. until the service at 7:00 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, Illinois.
María Infante, de 86 años, residente de Zion, Illinois —y anteriormente de Gurnee, Illinois—, falleció rodeada de sus seres queridos el 19 de mayo de 2026 en Zion, Illinois.
María nació el 13 de mayo de 1940 en Guatemala, hija de Juan Andrade y Julia Franco. María contrajo matrimonio con Joaquín Infante en Chicago, Illinois, en 1995, y dedicó su vida a ser una esposa, madre y abuela amorosa. Fue miembro de la Parroquia Holy Family. A María le precedieron en la muerte su esposo, Joaquín Infante; sus hijas, Irma Prado y Aracely Muñoz; su hijo, Rolando Maldonado; su hermana, Francisca Franco; y su hermano, Miguel Franco.
El velorio se llevará a cabo el viernes 29 de mayo de 2026, desde las 4:00 p.m. hasta la hora del servicio a las 7:00 p.m., en la Funeraria Congdon, ubicada en 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, Illinois.
