Margie Ortiz

Margarita P. Ortiz, of Waukegan, Illinois, passed away December 11, 2025. 

She was born May 22, 1948 in Des Plaines, Illinois.  Margie went to school in Big Wells Texas where she grew up and spent most of her years, later moved to Waukegan Illinois, she was a member of St. Dismas Catholic Church in Waukegan, and worked as a supervisor at Frontier Soups for many years in Lake Bluff Illinois.

Margie is survived by her husband, Ricardo A. Ortiz; children, Terrie (Camil) Chamoun, Raquel Ortiz, and Debra (Roberto Salas) Ortiz; grandchildren, James A. (Maria P. Rojas) Nevarez, Abigail R. Nevarez, Juan Salas, Benjamin (Elizabeth Salazar) Salas, Michael Chamoun, and Daniel Chamoun; great-granddaughter, Leyla M. Nevarez; siblings, Jessie Perez, Seferino Perez Jr., and Mary Lopez as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, and brothers.

Visitation will be held Monday December 15, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home 3012 Sheridan Road Zion, Illinois 60099. Burial will follow at Ascension Catholic Cemetery in Libertyville, Illinois.
