Linda Yearout

Linda Rose Yearout, 71, of Zion, Illinois passed away June 11, 2026 in Zion. She was born in Waukegan, Illinois September 15, 1954 to parents Clone and Marian Shaffer.

Linda was a lifelong resident of Zion, Illinois, graduating from Zion Benton Township High School in 1972. After graduating she attended North Central Bible School. Linda was a member of Christian Assembly of God Church in Zion for her entire life. She married her late husband, Gerald Yearout Sr. July 7, 1979.

Linda’s life devotion was her family and her church. She absolutely cherished every moment she spent with her family. All who knew her could testify of that quiet presence and love that she poured into every heart. Her faith in God and dedication to prayer is what stood out the most. Everywhere she went people were drawn to her because of how prominently Jesus showed through her smile and all that she did. As a member of Christian Assembly of God, she faithfully served as a Sunday School teacher, Missionettes Director, Children’s Church Director, and Prayer Warrior.

She is survived by her children, Diane Yearout, Gerald (Liz) Yearout Jr., and Jaclyn (Scott) Hall; grandchildren, Colin (Elizabeth) Morones, Joshua (Christie) Yearout, Samantha Hampton, Gerald Yearout III, Rebekah Hampton, Alexis Yearout, Samuel Hall, Santiago Mata, and Cecilia Yearout; sister, Sharon Hanson; and many beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Yearout Sr.; parents, Clone and Marian Shaffer; and brother-in-law, Ralph Hanson.

A visitation will be held Thursday June 18 from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service at 6:00 p.m. at Christian Assembly of God Church 2929 Bethel Boulevard, Zion, Illinois 60099.
