Juan J. Hernandez Jr.

Juan J. “Juanito” Hernandez, Jr., 36, of Waukegan, IL, passed away suddenly on July 12, 2026 in Waukegan.

He was born June 30, 1990 in Waukegan, and graduated with the Warren High School Class of 2008. Juan was a member of Most Blessed Trinity Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. He was a self-employed mechanic and also worked for Magnes Automotive in Beach Park. Juan was an avid fisherman and spent as much time as he could at the lake, at parks and just being outdoors. He enjoyed building and collecting model cars and spending time with his dogs.

Juan is survived by his loving family: mother, Ana Laura Garza; father, Juan Hernandez; sister, Ana Maria Garza; nieces, Isabel and Miranda; special friend, Ashley Stickles and her children, Chloe, Jason, and James; and many aunts uncles, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Maria Esperansa Garza and Vincente Garza, and his paternal grandparents, Salvador and Josefine Hernandez.

A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2026 from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, IL.
