Joseph Francis Glogovsky

Joseph Francis Glogovsky Sr., 94, of Zion, Illinois, passed away on January 26, 2026. He was born February 17, 1931, in North Chicago, Illinois, the son of Stephan and Pauline (Drinka) Glogovsky.

His favorite hobby was playing golf, and in his youth, he caddied at golf courses so he could earn enough money to play another round of golf. He joined the golf club in high school and was one of the top golfers on the team. He entered the Navy after high school and gave 4 years of service to our country. He hired on with Abbott Laboratories, where he met his future wife, Carol Joyce Olson. They were married on December 17, 1955, at Mother of God Church. He worked in Employee Relations and retired after 39 years of service. He taught Carol how to play golf, and they spent many years playing together and winning tournaments. They traveled to Florida for many winters after retirement. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Carol Glogovsky; his 2 sons, Joseph Jr. (Holly) and David (Ruby); 4 grandchildren, Scott, Shawn, David Jr., Delia; and 1 great-grandson, Caleb; and all of the nieces and nephews from his sisters and brothers.

He is preceded in death by his 5 brothers and 2 sisters and a granddaughter, Megan Noel Glogovsky.

A private memorial service will be held at a future date at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL. A private burial will take place at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park in Zion, IL.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Legion Post 865, P.O. Box 114, Zion, IL.
