Jimmy C. Escobar

Jimmy C. Escobar, 30, of Zion, IL, passed away on Friday, October 23, 2015. Jimmy was born December 7, 1984, in Evanston, IL, and graduated from Zion-Benton Township High School in 2002. He had been employed as a security officer for G4S in Waukegan. Jimmy is survived by his mother, Gayle Melton of Zion; father, Veronico Escobar of Belize; sister, Katrina (fiancé, Brian Vandenboom) Melton of Winthrop Harbor, IL; brother, J.R. Escobar of Gages Lake, IL; uncles, Terry (Merilee) Melton, Jimmy Dale Melton of FL, and Riley Melton of Unity, MS; niece, Danika Escobar; and many cousins, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by a grandmother, Wilma Melton; grandfather, Jim R. Melton; uncle, Jerry Melton; aunt, Peggy Giovannoni; and cousins, Rick Brown and Eric Brown. A Visitation will be held on Friday, October 30, 2015, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL.
