Janice Kleinschmidt

Janice Joyce Kleinschmidt, 93, of Libertyville, formerly of Chicago, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2026. 

Janice was born on October 21, 1932, to Paul Dziak and Irene Malewicke. She married George Kleinschmidt Sr. on January 15, 1949. Janice was a loving homemaker and a faithful volunteer at her church. She took great pride and joy in volunteering at Weber High School, frequently assisting with bingo and sporting events. Janice was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her children, Glenn (Margaret) Kleinschmidt, Gerard Kleinschmidt, and Gregory (Roberta) Kleinschmidt; her daughter-in-law, Alane, widow of George Kleinschmidt Jr.; her grandchildren, Geoff, Krysten, Nicole, Greg Jr., Brad, Katie, and Kyle; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Kleinschmidt Sr.; her son, George Kleinschmidt Jr.; her parents; her sister, Lorraine Stephen; and her granddaughter, Melissa.

A visitation will be held on Monday, May 11, 2026, at Prince of Peace Church, 135 S. Milwaukee Avenue Lake Villa, IL 60046 from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m., followed by Mass at 10:00 a.m. A committal ceremony will take place at All Saints Cemetery at 12:30 p.m., 700 N. River Road, Des Plaines, IL 60016.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
