Janice Anne Daniels, 87, of Winthrop Harbor, Illinois, formerly of Waukegan, Illinois, passed away surrounded by her loved ones on February 10, 2026.
She was born on March 1, 1938, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the daughter of Oscar I. and Maybelle L. (McNinch) Schultz. Janice graduated from high school and went to college, earning an associate's degree in nursing. She married Ronald Le Roy Daniels on September 17, 1960 at St. Peter Lutheran church in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She worked as a nurse in the newborn department at St. Joseph's Hospital in Milwaukee, and later worked in a doctor's office in Waukegan until retiring. Janice and Ronald enjoyed family vacations with their three children, including trips on an Alaskan cruise, Panama Canal, and Europe. Janice enjoyed knitting, gardening, reading books of any genre, and spending time up north at their family cabin located in Three Lakes, Wisconsin. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Kenosha, and formerly attended St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Waukegan.
Janice is survived by her loving husband, Ronald Le Roy Daniels; three children: Kathy (Dana) Bodnar, Christine (Kevin) Mifflin, and Todd Daniels; grandchildren: Andrew (Raeanne) Bodnar, Holly (John) Reinesch, Steven Mifflin, and Matthew (fiancée Eliana) Mifflin; great-grandchildren: Phaitlynn, Parker, and Aj; sister, Barbara Wendler; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandson, Allen Mifflin; parents, Oscar and Maybelle Schultz; and twin brothers, Gerald Schultz and George Schultz.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 8760 37th Ave, Kenosha, Wisconsin 53142. Burial will be held at Pineview Memorial Park in Beach Park, Illinois.
