James Broadway Jr

Jim was born in Harrisburg, IL to James E. Broadway Sr and Jewel Tison. The family moved to Winthrop Harbor in the 50’s and then moved to Waukegan where Jim graduated from Waukegan High School in 1960.

Jim met and married Dottie Clarkson in 1963. They married on his birthday, so he could never forget their anniversary.

Jim was a top tier storyteller and liked nothing more than sitting around, shooting the **it with his friends and family. He was a millwright in Local 1693 for almost 50 years. He loved talking about the many places he had travelled to work throughout the years, like Jamaica, St Croix, and all over the US. He also really enjoyed sharing his knowledge.

In his younger years, Jim was an avid fisherman, often telling of his 6’ shark and monster northern catches.

In his final years, he enjoyed drives to the lakefront, and weekends in Montello where the family has a home. He also really enjoyed reminiscing about his Waukegan days and going to Riverview as a teen.

Jim is survived by his children, Sue and Jim (Colette), and his grandchildren Tyler and Nathaniel (Sue), and Ian and Shiloh (Jim/Colette).
