Gerald M Kirby

Jerry Kirby, 70, of Pleasant Prairie, WI passed away peacefully on May 9, 2025, in Pleasant Prairie, WI.

He was born July 13, 1954, in Waukegan, IL to the late Ira and Margaret Kirby (nee Schultz). He attended Zion High School and was a prior resident of Waukegan.

Jerry had a long career as a mechanic, fabricator and all-around creator. He worked at Diamonds Scrap Yard in Waukegan, IL, Manfredi Motor Transit in Gurnee, IL and lastly, the Dill Brothers in Zion, IL. Jerry was retired and still enjoyed fishing, gardening and completing and creating projects that the slower pace of retirement offers.

Always an avid boater, fisherman and hunter, his mantra was “if the lilacs are blooming, the white bass are running.”

Jerry passed away after a year-long illness but leaves behind many loyal and long-term friends and acquaintances with fond, funny and memorable memories. He will be missed.
