George H. Woltz Jr.

George Henry Woltz Jr went to Heaven on September 30, 2025 at the VA Hospital in North Chicago, Il. 

He was born August 17, 1958, to George & Dorothy Woltz at St. Therese Hospital in Waukegan, Il. 

George grew up in Round Lake where he attended St. Paul Lutheran Church and School from kindergarten through 8th grade graduation. In 1976, he graduated from Shoreland Lutheran High School Kenosha, WI, lettering in, baseball and golf. He loved playing baseball and hockey, which he did from the time he was a kid into his adult years. He also loved bowling and played for years. After high school he went to DeVry tech, completed his education, and joined the Marines. He was Proud to wear the uniform. George’s job as a Marine was to guard the White House. After an Honorable Discharge with a White House Clearance, he became a truck driver where he drove over the road for Great Western in Texas. Finally, he moved back to Illinois in 1990. He worked for Emco Chemical for years before becoming disabled. September 25, 1993, George married the love of his life and soulmate, Cynthia Marie Hansen at St. Mary’s Lutheran Church, Kenosha WI. Together they blended their families and spent 32 wonderful years together. 

He is survived by his loving wife Cindy, his children Tyron (Christine) Sanders, Leona Woltz, Christine Truster, and Melissa (Eddie) Kreye, Terrielynn (Michael) Albert. Grandchildren Nick, Kayla, Elizabeth, Henry, Mason, Aiden, Josiah, and Rosalind. Great Grandchildren Caden, Elora, Lucy and Ella. Sisters Deborah (Charley) Butts of Winnsboro, Texas, Cheryl (John) Hall of Zion, Il and Michelle Battisfore Phillips of Winthrop Harbor. Nieces and Nephews - Nicole (Jon) Crawford, Christina Hall, Kimberly (Kyle) Multz, Brad (Mary Dill) Battisfore and Chad Battisfore Uncle Art (Laurie) Goralski

 Preceded in death by his father, George H. Woltz and Mother Dorothy L. Ash. Stepfather Ronald Ash. Grandparents Joseph & Helen Goralski.

 Celebration of Life Family and friends are invited to join in a Celebration of Life for George on Friday, October 10th at VFW Post 7448, located at 1112 Sheridan Rd., Winthrop Harbor, Illinois. The gathering will be held from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, with Military Honors at 6:00 PM.
