Frank Kraft, age 100, a loving father of five and adoring husband of his late wife, Marlene Kraft; passed away peacefully in the afternoon of December 3, 2025. Frank was born in 1925 in North Chicago, Illinois, to Frank Stanley Kraft, Sr. and Martha Kraft. In addition to his parents, Frank grew up with two brothers, Joe and George, and his sister Helen.
On May 17, 1952, Frank married Marlene at Immaculate Conception Church in Waukegan. Shortly after, they began raising a family; Lawrence (Rose) Kraft, Christine Mors (Kraft), Daniel (Kim) Kraft, James Kraft, and Beth (Joe) Bourgouin (Kraft).
Frank’s grandchildren include Julie (Andy) Webb (Mors), Peter (Jill) Mors, Amy (Bailey) Ogrin (Kraft), Kellie (Rosco) Doro (Kraft), Cassie (Dan) Steinbeck (Kraft), Samuel Kraft, and Zachary Bourgouin. His great-grandchildren include Hailey, Carter, and Addison Webb; Avery and Brady Ogrin; Jack, Nick, and Violet Doro; Jayden and Sam Steinbeck; and Mac Mullins.
After graduating from Waukegan High School, Frank served his country in The United States Army. Upon his discharge from the military, he entered the workforce. Always good with numbers, Frank pursued a career in the accounting field. He eventually returned to government work where he retired as a comptroller.
Frank enjoyed sports, both as a spectator and as a participant. It would be nearly impossible to count all the times one could spot Frank sitting in the stands rooting for his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. During the winters of his younger years, you could find Frank bowling in leagues at Sunset Bowl in Waukegan. When the weather permitted, you would find Frank on the golf course, often at Bonnie-Brook Golf Course near his home.
A devout catholic, Frank was a long-time parishioner of Our Lady of Humility Church in Beach Park, Illinois.
Visitation will take place at St. Brigid Parish - Our Lady of Humility Catholic Church, 10655 W Wadsworth Rd, Beach Park, IL, on Friday, December 12, 2025 starting at 10:30 a.m. until Mass starting at 11:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Ascension Catholic Cemetery, Libertyville, IL.
