Evelyn Tiani

Evelyn Jo Tiani (Cantu), 69, of Winthrop Harbor, IL, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2026, in Libertyville, IL, after her battle with cancer took an unfortunate turn.

She was born on December 26, 1956 in Coronado, California, to her parents Jacqueline Joan Scheuber (Cantu) and Leo Felix Cantu. Evelyn lived a life filled with love, spending much of her time working or with family. She was a true motivator whose words of wisdom live forever in the hearts of those who received them. She was a firm believer in the value of family, and that shone through until the very end.

Evelyn is survived by her husband, Eugene Tiani; her children, Gene Tiani, Tony Tiani (Diantha Roen), Kellie Tiani, Jason (Megan) Tiani, Tanya Tiani (Manuel Rivera); grandchildren, Madison Tiani, Angel Karstens, James Selph, Chace Selph, Kevin Tiani, Gabriel Tiani, Danielle Tiani, Leo Rivera, and Manuel Rivera Jr.; and her sisters, Sharon Vandervere, and Melody (Jeff) Fischer; brother, Mark Cantu.

Evelyn is preceded in death by her parents, Jacqueline Joan Scheuber and Leo Felix Cantu; her son Kevin Tiani; brother, Leroy Mark Cantu; and brother-in-law Larry Vandervere.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 17, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL 60099. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Park in Libertyville, IL.

In lieu of Flowers donations to the Tiani family to help cover funeral expenses would be appreciated.
