Dora C. Holloway

Dora C. Holloway, 87, passed away at her home in Beach Park, IL, on August 22, 2025. She was born March 23, 1938, in Itawamba County, MS, to the late Ellie Hood and the late Dora Hood.

She came to Zion, IL in October of 1957, where she worked at the Cookie Factory. She retired from Cherry Electric after 31 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include her daughter Sheila (Jerry) Grohs of Kenosha, WI, a granddaughter, Haley, and several nieces and nephews.

She married the late Newman P. Holloway, on September 29, 1960. He preceded herin death on September 14, 1984.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Jesker Miles, and three brothers, Olun Hood, Nolan Hood, and Ellie Hood Jr..

A private funeral service was held at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park in Zion, IL, on August 28, 2025.
