Diana L Nichols

Diana L. Nichols, 68, of Winthrop Harbor, Illinois, passed away surrounded by her loved ones on April 2, 2026.

Diana was born on February 16, 1958, in Waukegan, Illinois, the daughter of Fred and Joanne (Seger) De Pew. She graduated from Zion-Benton Township High School and attended the College of Lake County. On June 18, 2005, she married Stanley Nichols at First Baptist Church in Winthrop Harbor. Diana retired from the Beach Park School District, where she served as a secretary and administrative assistant. She had a passion for gardening, scrapbooking, and caring for her dogs, Mattie and Cuddles. Diana loved the time she spent hanging out with her best friends, and above all, she cherished time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Diana is survived by her loving husband, Stanley Nichols; children, Ashley Zeason, Stephanie (Justin) Johnson, Brent (Bambi) Nichols, Ralph Nichols, and Desiree Kline; eleven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; her mother, Joanne De Pew; her brother, Joseph De Pew; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Fred De Pew.

A memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at 4:00 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 6:00 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, Illinois.
