Deborah Foster

Deborah Foster,71, of Beach Park, IL previously of Winthrop Harbor, IL, passed away on June 6, 2024 in Waukegan, IL.

Deborah was born on April 14, 1953 in Waukegan, Illinois the daughter of Wesley and Mildred B. Jackson. Graduating from Waukegan High School, class of 1971 Deborah then went on to work for the VA hospital in Great Lakes, IL retiring after 33 years, and working at Six Flags part time for several years. She was very involved in learning and honoring her Native American heritage. She participated and worked many of the Zion Pow-Wows, and also volunteered to work the voting polls in her local area every voting season. Deborah also enjoyed making intricate bead jewelry, collecting DVD’s, and listening to music. Deborah had the biggest heart and cared deeply for her children and family, and would do anything to help out someone in need. That care continued on after retiring in 2021 to being a full-time caregiver to her mother Mildren Jackson. She will be greatly missed!

Deborah is survived by her children, Christopher Foster of Waukegan, IL; April Foster of Zion, IL; Wendi (Christofer) Wells; grandchildren, Hunter Turnen, Tyler Foster, Cydnee Foster, Alexander Good, Jacob Good; sister, Sheryle "Sherrie" Ostrander; aunts, Susanne Gardiner, Rae Taylor; along with many nieces, and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Wesley and Mildred B. Jackson; grandparents, Earl and Zula Pharr; former spouse whom she remained close with until his passing, Robert Foster.
