Chester Joseph Trygar, 92, of Winthrop Harbor, formerly of Waukegan, IL passed away surrounded by his family on January 5, 2026 in Pleasant Prairie, WI. Chester was born on April 10, 1933 in North Chicago, IL the son of Joseph Paul and Caroline (Biskup) Trygar.
Chester graduated from Waukegan High School, and served in the Army. He married Sylvia Zorc on May 22, 1954 at Mother of God Catholic Church in Waukegan, IL. He worked for Johnson Motors as a machinist until his retirement, and was a member of Our Lady of Humility Catholic Church. Chester loved to spend time with loving wife Sylvia, they spent time traveling to Hawaii, and Mexico and went on several cruises together, he also loved and adored his granddaughter Paloma. In his spare time he enjoyed golfing and attending to his peony garden.
Chester is survived by his children, Debra (Steven) Angrist, and Joseph (Kimberly) Trygar; granddaughter Paloma "Peaches" (Jordan) Goggins; siblings, Henry Trygar, and Dorothy Pish; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife Sylvia Trygar; parents, Joseph and Caroline Trygar; siblings, Matt Trygar, Josephine Allen, Lottie Krantz, Genevieve Tucka, Jeanette Warner, and Stan (Martha) Trygar.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at, St Brigid Parish - Our Lady of Humility Church, 10655 W. Wadsworth road, Beach Park, IL. Burial will follow at Ascension Catholic Cemetery in Libertyville, IL.
