Cassidy Sosnin

March 9, 1996 — September 7, 2026

Cassidy "Cassie" Lynn Sosnin (nee Cheek), age 30, passed away on September 7, 2026.

Born on March 9, 1996, in Highland Park, Illinois, Cassie grew up with a bright mind and an adventurous spirit. As a young girl, she thrived at summer camps where she fell in love with boating, hiking, and especially horseback riding. Her academic achievements in junior high earned her a coveted spot at New Tech High School, where she graduated in 2014 as part of an elite group of only 99 students accepted from across the area.

Driven and hardworking, Cassie excelled in a five-year apprenticeship with the IBEW Local 150 electrical workers. She was incredibly proud to work for the union and brought excellence, dedication, and a flawless work ethic to every single assignment.

On July 5, 2025, Cassie married her best friend and the love of her life, Tylan Sosnin. Together with their beloved family and friends, they shared a passion for adventure, traveling to beautiful destinations including Jamaica, the Dominican Republic, Mexico, California, Colorado, and Florida.

Cassie had an incredibly generous heart and was always the first to pitch in and help anyone in need. While she possessed many outstanding qualities, her brilliant sense of humor and razor-sharp quick wit stood out to everyone she met. She was highly goal-oriented and proudly accomplished almost everything she set her mind to—though a Sapphire Blue "Lambogenie Pantywagon" ultimately escaped her.

Cassie is survived by her loving husband, Tylan Sosnin; her parents, Rick and Flo Cheek, and Cassandra Watkins; her siblings, Samantha (John) Maki, Elliott (Alyssa) Semmerling, and Farron Semmerling; her cherished niece, Ava; and her nephews, Grayson and James Maki.
