Bobby Earl Williams

Bobby Williams affectionately known as “Biddy” was born on January 5th 1963, to the union of Sammie and Martha Williams in Zion IL. Zion was not just his hometown, it was the foundation of his life. The city and community that helped shape the man so many knew and loved. 

Biddy loved sports, and working on things growing up. He could fix just about anything. A true jack of all trades. He took pride in working with his hands and figuring things out. If something was broken, he’d find a way to fix it and make it work. That same steady, dependable spirit showed up in the way he lived his life. Always present, always willing, and always with a smile. Family meant everything to Biddy. He loved being surrounded by his people, laughing, playing cards or kicked back watching his favorite western “Gunsmoke”. He had a special love for children and was often the trusted go-to babysitter. Kids gravitated towards him and he embraced that role with patience and care. 

Biddy leaves to cherish his memory, his loving mother, Martha Williams. Sisters; Essie Phifer, Barbara Williams and Margaret (Kenny) Hunter. Brother; James Williams, Steven Williams and Jessie Williams. Sister-in-law, Lusterine Williams, Bonus sister, Shirley Buchanan and Special friend Annette Cato. His 3 children; daughter, Marsha (Azel) Lakes, Bobby E. Walton, DeMarcus (Shelby) Walton. Grandchildren; Danaije, Kameron, Kalen, Kaydence, Makhai, Bobby Jr, Lamrion, Brayden, Talayah and Abrena. Aunts; JoAnn Glaspie, and Robbie Meyers. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will forever carry on his memory in their hearts. 

He is preceded in death by his father, Sammie Williams; brother, Robert Williams; grandparents, Robert and Essie Bell Conner, Wiley and Vennie Mae Williams; nephew, Deyonn Williams; and sister-in-law, Agnes “Peaches” Williams.

 Bobby’s life was not measured by titles or accolades but by the laughter he shared, the hands he held, and the love he gave freely. He will be remembered for his quiet strength, his willingness to show up and the warmth he brought into every room. His presence will be deeply missed. Hearing “WHO YOU WIT?! When entering or leaving a room. We know his spirit will live on in every card game played, every western watched, any quick fix we relied on him for, and every child who felt safe in his care.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 3109 Gilead Ave., Zion, IL. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park in Zion, IL.
