Betty Lou (Leech) Miller, 92, of Zion, IL passed away on November 14, 2025 and entered the gates of Heaven. Betty was born January 1, 1933 in Zion, IL to James Franklin and Lola Lee (Camp) Leech. Betty married Donald Leroy Miller on April 27, 1957 in Zion, IL. She was a member of Christian Catholic Church in Zion (now known as Christ Community Church), for her entire life. She put her faith in Christ at a young age and was baptized publicly showing that faith. She taught Sunday school and was in the Zion Passion Play there for many years. She attended Zion schools and Zion Benton High School, graduating in 1951. She loved her gang of girlfriends from high school and they stayed in touch the rest of their lives. When she had children she became a full time homemaker. Her family spent many years traveling to Florida and to Door County, WI where they have a cabin in Gills Rock.
Betty is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Donald Leroy Miller; children Chip (Amanda) Miller, Beth (Steve) Wild; grandchildren Tegan (Kailyn) Wild, Avery (Macey) Miller, Morgan Miller, Camden (Rachel) Wild, Cade (Emma) Miller, Cooper (Rachel) Wild, Molly Claire Miller; Great grandchildren Hazel, Leroy, Wynsor, Palmer, and Truitt Wild and Hallie Miller. Baby girl Miller coming in January, baby girl Wild coming in March, baby girl Wild coming in April, all in 2026.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Lola Leech; in-laws Homer and Hazel Marie Miller, and sister Grace and brother- in-law Walter Kolmodin.
A private family gathering will take place at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park in Zion, IL. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Camp Zion, in care of Christ Community Church, 2500 Dowie Memorial Drive, Zion, IL 60099.
