Bernard L. Jedkins

Bernard Jedkins was born on January 26, 1967, in Waukegan, Illinois, to Charlotte Ridgeway and Ben Jedkins. He attended Waukegan East Campus High School and later in life proudly earned his GED, a reflection of his perseverance and determination.

Bernard was a devoted father and grandfather, a loving uncle, and a loyal friend. Family meant everything to him, and he cherished the time he spent surrounded by those he loved.

As a gifted and passionate musician, Bernard had a rare ability to touch people’s hearts through his music and vibrant personality. Whether he was rapping, listening to music, or sharing his talent with others, his love for music was evident and deeply felt by everyone around him. His creativity and authenticity left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him.

In his free time, Bernard enjoyed watching movies, spending time with friends and family, and listening to and rapping music.

Bernard was truly loved by all and touched every life he encountered. His legacy lives on through his music, his family, and the countless memories he created. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Bernard was survived by his son Bernard Jedkins Jr., his grandson, William Jedkins, and a host of nieces nephews and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents Ben and Charlotte (Ridgeway) Jedkins, son Donte Jedkins, uncles Paul Ridgeway, John Ridgeway, and Phil Ridgeway, sisters Phyllis Jedkins and Theresa Jedkins.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. with a service to follow at 11:00 a.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL.
