Barbara Thomsen

Barbara Jean (Iles) Thomsen, 84, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2025 surrounded by her family. She was born March 11, 1941 to parents Melvin and Katherine (Fleming) Iles.

Barbara graduated from Waukegan High School. She worked in clerical and bookkeeping prior to her retirement from Barbara and Ronald's rental store. Barbara enjoyed crocheting and spending time with her beloved dogs Leroy, Eddie, and Ziva. Family was Barbara’s greatest joy. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Barbara is survived by her children, Debra (Eric) Williams, Lori (Matthew) Nordigian, David (Christine) Thomsen, and Sheri Thomsen; grandchildren, Westley (Molly) Williams, Justin (Lauren) Williams, Austin (Megan) Williams, Ashley (Jeff) Wydra, Amanda Stinson, Alexandra (Greg) Walsh, Alyssa Nordigian (Ryan Heller), Alicia Nordigian, Abigail Nordigian, Ava Nordigian, Anjie (Dale) Rawhoof, Olivia (Christopher) Ranville; great grandchildren, Allison and Owen Williams, Violet and Ivy Williams, Oliver, Archie, and Theodore Williams, Myka and Reese Wydra, Hannahlynn, Harper, Hensley, Hayven, and Havanna Stinson, Presley, Theo, and Aaliyah Nordigian-Heller, Bentley, Bishop, and Bowie Nordigian, and Hannah and Russell Rawhoof; niece, Catherine Fraley, MD; brother-in-laws, Thomas (Mary) Thomsen and Robert Thomsen; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Barbara was preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, Ronald Thomsen; parents, Melvin and Katherine Iles; sister, Patricia Iles; brother, Earl Fraley Jr., daughter-in-law, Janice Thomsen; and step-father, Earl Fraley.

Visitation will be held Thursday, October 2, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. at Congdon Funeral Home 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, Illinois. Burial will be held at Northshore Garden of Memories in North Chicago, Illinois.
