Arthur P. Holstein Jr.

Arthur P. Holstein Jr., a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2026, at the age of 82. Born on November 24, 1943, in Detroit, Michigan, Arthur dedicated 21 years of his life to service in the Navy. Following his military career, he found fulfillment as a Human Resources Manager at the local hospital in Zion, Illinois, and enjoyed his part-time work as an off track betting clerk before returning to Civil Service, where he would eventually retire.

Arthur was a man of many interests; he was an avid coin collector and relished the countless guided walleye fishing trips to Temple Bay in Ontario, Canada where he created lasting memories with his son and grandsons. He took great pride in attending reunions with his fellow veterans from the Classifiers and The ABNAKI group, embracing the camaraderie and shared experiences they provided.

Arthur was proceeded in death by his parents Dr. Arthur P. & Anna Louise Holstein.

Arthur is survived by his wife, Joyce Holstein; son, Arthur P. (Mary) Holstein III; grandsons, Aaron (Abby) Holstein and Kyle Holstein and great-granddaughter, Isla Mae Holstein; his siblings, Gretchen Hull, Christopher Holstein, Maryann Jordan, and David (Lisa) Holstein and nieces, nephews, and friends.

A memorial service to celebrate Arthur’s life will be held at Congdon Funeral Home 3012 Sheridan Road Zion, Illinois on March 27, 2026.
