A Life Tribute to Arlington
Arlington enjoyed a joyful childhood growing up in Belize, where his natural creativity and handiness shone early on. Whether crafting colorful kites for neighborhood kids or building a small home for his beloved pigeons, he found joy in creating and caring.
A passionate sports enthusiast, Arlington discovered his calling in cycling. He competed with determination and pride in several cross-country races across Belize, always pushing his limits with heart and courage.
One of Arlington’s most defining traits was his devotion to his mother. He was fiercely protective of her, often reminding others, “Don’t make comments about my mom,” if anyone spoke unkindly. That loyalty was a cornerstone of who he was.
Arlington also had a deep and enduring love for children. The birth of his son, Malachi, brought him overwhelming joy and filled a special place in his heart. He also cherished his two daughters from marriage by Zenia Young.
He had a strong sense of pride in his appearance — always stepping out dressed sharply. His charisma made him the life of any gathering, especially on the dance floor, where his smooth moves and infectious laughter lit up the room. Arlington’s sweet tooth was legendary, too — his sister fondly recalls finding candy wrappers hidden in his pockets during laundry.
Educated first in Belize City, Arlington moved to New York shortly after high school. There, he continued his education through adult learning programs and ultimately found a calling in service. Proudly enlisting in the military, Arlington served with honor, including deployments to Korea and Germany — experiences he deeply valued.
Arlington is lovingly remembered by his 14-year-old son, Malachi, Zenia and his two daughters, his mother, and his six siblings. His memory lives on in the joy he brought to others, the stories shared by those who knew him, and the indelible mark he left on all our hearts.
A service to celebrate Arlington’s life will be held at Congdon Funeral Home May 29, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Following the service, burial will be held at Ft. Sheridan National Cemetery Vattman Road, Lake Bluff Illinois 60044.
