Ardell Crye-Rades

Ardell Crye-Rades, 90, of Sebring, Florida, passed away on February 21, 2025, at Good Shepherd Hospice in Sebring, Florida, in the loving presence of her granddaughters. Born on October 15, 1934, in Pardeeville, Wisconsin, to Charles and Viola (Sommerfeldt) Dettman, she was a cherished and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Ardell touched the lives of many and will be sadly missed.

She is survived by her loving granddaughters, Dawn Crye-Wrath (Jason Webb) and Stephanie Crye-Graves; great-grandchildren, Mykalah, Donnie Jr., Jalayna, and Ivy; sister, Darlene (Danny) Denzer; sister-in-law, Corrine Dettman; and many nephews, nieces, great-and great-great-nieces and nephews with many of whom she shared very special bonds.

Ardell was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Rades; her son, Steven Crye; her great-grandson, Christopher Groomes; and siblings Donald (Audrey) Dettman, Betty (Leo) Smith, Dwayne Dettman, Glen (Linda) Dettman, and Dale Dettman.

Ardell was fondly known for her sassy personality, classy style, delicious food and providing love and guidance to so many.

A private family service will be held at a later date to honor her memory.
