Alexander "Alex" Reyes, 15, passed away at home surrounded by his loved ones on October 29, 2025, after fighting and being cancer free three times.
He was born on January 12, 2010, in Waukegan, Illinois the son of Agustin Reyes and Maria Rosario Limon. Alex graduated from Zion Central Middle School and was a sophomore at Zion-Benton Township High School. Alex was witty and loved to joke around with his family. He enjoyed building Legos, like the Eiffel Tower, and playing card games with his brothers and cousins. He also enjoyed watching TikTok, and listening to reggaeton and corridos. He gathered an impressive collection of rare pokemon which he enjoyed catching with his family. He loved to play basketball in the park during his free time. He was learning taekwondo and would often wrestle with his brothers. He loved his family and remained independent and strong willed. Alex had a rare gift for friendship, he moved easily between different groups, befriending all kinds of people and getting along with everyone. He was a fighter!
Alex is survived by his parents, Agustin and Maria Reyes; siblings, Agustin “Guty” Reyes, Angelo Reyes; grandmothers, Eugenia Herrera and Isabel Jaime; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his two grandfathers.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 2, 2025 from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 3:00 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home 3012 Sheridan Rd. Zion, IL 60099.
Alexander “Alex” Reyes, de 15 años, falleció en su hogar, rodeado de sus seres queridos, el 29 de octubre de 2025, después de luchar y estar libre de cáncer en tres ocasiones.
Nació el 12 de enero de 2010 en Waukegan, Illinois, hijo de Agustín Reyes y María Rosario Limon. Alex se graduó de Zion Central Middle School y cursaba el segundo año en Zion-Benton Township High School. Alex era ocurrente y le encantaba bromear con su familia. Disfrutaba armar Legos, como la Torre Eiffel, y jugar a las cartas con sus hermanos y primos. También le gustaba ver TikTok y escuchar reguetón y corridos. Armó una colección impresionante de Pokémon raros, que disfrutaba atrapar con su familia. Le encantaba jugar básquetbol en el parque en su tiempo libre. Estaba aprendiendo taekwondo y solía jugar a las luchas con sus hermanos. Amaba a su familia y se mantenía independiente y de carácter firme. Alex tenía un don especial para la amistad; se movía con facilidad entre distintos grupos, hacía amistad con todo tipo de personas y se llevaba bien con todos. ¡Era un guerrero!
A Alex le sobreviven sus padres, Agustín y María Reyes; sus hermanos, Agustín “Guty” Reyes y Angelo Reyes; sus abuelas, Eugenia Herrera e Isabel Jaime; además de muchas tías, tíos, primos y amigos.
Le precedieron en muerte sus dos abuelos.
La visita/velorio se llevará a cabo el domingo 2 de noviembre de 2025, de 12:00 p.m. hasta la hora del servicio a las 3:00 p. m., en Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL 60099.
