He played many sports, but especially enjoyed wrestling and football. In high school he was involved in many extracurricular activities like academic challenge. He sang for The Artisans and even created a quartet. He was proud to have been on the Clear Fork Colts football and wrestling teams. After high school Chris started his own computer company called Next Gen Consulting. In 2009 he joined the US Army. He was stationed at Fort Bragg, NC where he met his future wife Megan (Pontillo) Martin. They had their first child, Annabelle in 2014 and together they moved to Kenosha, WI in 2015. Chris and Megan were married on January 9, 2016 at the Racine Masonic Center. They had their second child Theodore in 2016 and purchased their first house together in Racine, WI the next year. In 2021 they moved to their dream property in Wadsworth, IL. Chris worked hard at whatever he did and because of this dedication he excelled at everything he did. He was committed to his job at Midwest Refrigerated Services and in his off time he enjoyed spending time with his family, working on the homestead, watching the Ohio State Buckeyes, playing poker, shooting pool, and listening to music.

Chris will be greatly missed by many. He is survived by his wife, Megan Martin; children, Annabelle and Theodore Martin; parents, Robert and Nancy Martin; sister, Randi Ernsberger; nephew, Gage Ernsberger; nieces, Gabrielle and Kinlee Ernsberger; grandparents, Marilyn Martin, and Judy Adams; in-laws, the Pontillo and Scoullar families; many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
