Obituary of Linda Hoffman

Linda L. Hoffman, 69, of Winthrop Harbor died June 6, 2015. Linda was born July 17, 1945 in Waukegan, IL. She graduated from Waukegan Township High School in 1963. She worked at Abbott Laboratories from 1965-1967. Linda met her husband Joseph on a blind date when he took her to the Waukegan Bowman Archery Banquet. They married on January 8, 1966 at Our Lady of Humility Church in Beach Park. Linda stayed home to raise their two children before going to work for Spring Bluff School and then Westfield School in Winthrop Harbor. Later, she worked in the business office at Warren Township High School in Gurnee. Linda was an avid reader and passed on this love of books to her children and grandchildren. Her major enjoyment in life was spending time with her family and especially being "Nana" to her grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Lisa Hoffman of Chicago, and Brian Hoffman of Lake Bluff; two grandchildren Evalyn and Jacob Katsifarakis of Chicago; sister Patricia (Don) Hall of Phoenix; two sisters-in-law Betty Haines of Zion, and Margie Regel of Winthrop Harbor; cousin Carla (Robert) Goetz of Geneva; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. Visitation will take place from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
