Obituary of Michael Russell

Michael Stephen Russell, 65, of Zion, IL, passed away on June 7, 2015 at his home. Visitation will be held on June 13, 2015 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm, with the funeral service immediately following at 1:00 pm at Congdon Funeral Home in Zion, IL. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park in Zion, IL Reception following burial will be announced. Michael was born in Milwaukee, WI to Duane and Eileen Russell on June 30, 1949. He went to high school at Forest View in Arlinton Heights, IL, but graduated from West Caldwell in New Jersey in 1967. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from Dec. 1971 to Feb. 1975. He worked as a sales rep for United Coatings for several years. He was pastor of the Judd Faith Home in Zion, IL for 24 years, during which time he went on to earn a BA in Ancient Languages from Wheaton College. Michael is survived by his mother, Eileen Russell of Orlando, FL.; sister, Marilyn Monaghan, her husband, Craig, their children and grandchildren; brother, Mark Russell, his children and grandchild; brother Peter Russell, his wife, Cindy, their children and grandchildren; sister Lizabeth Johnson, her husband, Gerard, their children and grandchildren; and brother, Tim Russell, his wife, Rebecca, and his children. He is preceded in death by his father, Duane Russell.
