Obituary of Oscar Lynn Lawson

Oscar "Lynn" Lawson, 71, of Beach Park, IL, passed away on Saturday, February 21, 2015, at Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan, IL. He was born September 16, 1943, in Florence, AL, and married Linda Kramer on April 20, 1968, in Waukegan. Lynn was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a retired construction worker and worked for a time as a salesman with Kramers Kampers. He loved to fish and was an avid eagle observer who would often travel to a favorite spot in Iowa to pursue this hobby. He will be missed for his smile and his caring ways for others. He was a man who was willing to help everyone he met. The light of his life were his grandchildren, he was their biggest supporter. You could find him at the BMX track watching his grandsons or sitting in his front yard waving to everyone that passed. Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Linda; daughters, Rion Lawson of Winthrop Harbor, IL, and Chelle (Jimy Oversen) Lawson of Beach Park, IL; grandchildren, Kaeli, Dakota, Damien, Dylynn, and Madisen; sisters, Rose (Wayne) Lane of Killen, AL, Margaret (Charlie) Crosswhite of Lewisburg, TN, and Patsy (Peanut) Perry of Loretto, TN; brother, Jerry Lawson of Killen AL; sisters-in-law, Theresa Higgins, Louise (Walter) Karo; brothers-in-law, Ray (Sandy) Kramer, Cliff (Lousie) Kramer, Bill (Faye) Kramer; many nieces, nephews, and other family; and loyal dog, Oreo, who was always by his side. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Rhonda Lawson; parents, Oscar and Lena Lawson Sr.; brother, Kenneth Lawson; and mother-in-law, Mary Kramer. The family would like to thank Dr.Nho, Dr.Agrawal and Dr.Mehta, who not only was his hematologist but also became a friend. We would also like to thank the staff on the 4th floor at Vista East for all they did to make his last days comfortable. A funeral service will be held Thursday, February 26, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL. Friends may greet the family from 4:00 until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment is private for the family.
