Obituary of Isabelle H. Adcock

Isabelle H. Adcock, 84, of Beach Park, IL passed peacefully February 12, 2015 surrounded by her loving family in Lake Forest, IL. She was born April 18, 1930 in Freetown, Massachusetts. She was a devoted wife of one, mother of nine, sister of five, and most beloved “Nana” of eighty-eight. Isabelle was a proud matriarch of 88 beginning with nine of her own children who went on to bless her with 79 additions to her family tree. She always spoke with pride of her Massachusetts heritage and background. She kept in daily contact with her large family over the phone offering support, advice, opinions, consoling or just to say hi and let you know that she cared. She loved to play cards or Yatzee with her large family at every gathering. In the summer time she loved to go rummaging. She taught her family all the determination and drive needed to lead through life. Not to follow others but blaze their own trail and make their own way with the confidence that she would be there for support. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband of 61 years Bill Adcock, a sister Viola (Frank) Tomkiewicz, a daughter Jakie (Bear) Wilkerson in Spotsylvania VA, a son Bob (Pat) Costa in New Bedford MA, a daughter Joann Costa in Union Grove AL, a daughter Gale (Mike) Salita in Clymer PA, a daughter Dorothy Adcock in Beach Park, IL a son Bill (Gail) in burlington WI, a son Tim (Patty) in Winthrop Harbor, a daughter Stacy (Rich) Peters in Beach Park IL, 28 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son Billy and his wife Rita, her daughter Beverly, her parents Elmer and Catherine Raymond, her sisters Beatrice, Etta, Elmie, and one brother Ronnie, 2 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. A celebration of life was held at the Winthrop Harbor VFW on February 14, 2015.
