Obituary of William Newman Harrison

William “Bill” Newman Harrison, age 90, long time resident of Zion, IL, went to be with his Lord on January 22, 2015. Bill was born to Ella and William P. Harrison in Newport, Rhode Island on March 20, 1924. He came to Zion in 1946 after being stationed at Great Lakes Naval Base where he met his future bride, Dorothy M. Bartholomew. They were married for 69 years. Bill is survived by his wife and their 3 children; Lane (Sheryl), Lisa, Leigh (Robin), 12 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, 2 nieces and Marty and David Lloyd. A Home Going celebration will be held at Christ Community Church (CCC) on Saturday, January 31, 2015. Visitation will be held from 1 until 3pm with the celebration service to follow.
